Club Motto

You may be wondering what our club motto means. It is in Latin so can have several interpretations. The most common and direct translation is "never satsified till we are the best"  but "only the best will do" is also acceptable. Either interpretation is a great way to approach whatever you are doing in life. The motto is also that of the Everton Premier League team based in Liverpool, England. Everton were formed in 1878 and are one of the founders of the Football League in England. They recently played their 4000th top flight league game and hold the record of most games played in the highest division. Interestingly, Everton have now formed a partnership with the OSA and their academy staff were recently in Toronto given coaching sessions and explaining how to operate an academy. Wayne Rooney who is being described as the next world superstar was a product of that academy.

You can see there is a lot of tradition in our motto so let’s try and live up to it.

(you will notice that the traditional way of talking about teams is not grammatically correct - the plural rather than the singular is used {"Everton were" rather than "Everton was"}- but that is the way it has always been written and still is in the UK).
